The International Mine Rescue Competition is underway in Sudbury. Thirteen countries are at the international event and it’s the first time ever that it’s taking place in Canada since being created in 1998.
In total, 28 mine rescue teams are taking part. They’ll be involved in simulated underground emergencies, firefighting scenarios and there’s also a high-angle rope rescue.
The competition runs untill Friday.
