As the winter season comes to an end and work on the Rogers Arena resumes the City of Elliot Lake is providing an update as well as next steps going forward.
According to the release, the Bore Hole work for the Geotech investigation has been completed on both sides of the structure, and engineers are now beginning work for the foundation modifications that will be put in place based on the report.
That is expected to be completed within the next few weeks, and then the actual foundation work will begin.
The current timeline is mid-April, with completion within three months.
Temporary shoring was also put in place to support the roof through the winter, and there have been no issues with the JCI workers expected to complete the work this summer.
The city hopes to have the work done with the hope of reopening the facility in later summer, early fall.
