Police find $20,000 in drugs and $100,000 in cash after Chelmsford search warrant

A 56-year-old Chelmsford man is facing drug trafficking charges and more after a police investigation.
GSPS Communication Director Kaitlyn Dunn says while investigating Chelmsford, officers observed what they believed to be an active methamphetamine lab, so officers arrested a man and contacted Greater Sudbury Fire Services HAZMAT Techs while detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a search warrant.
Dunn says officers found some $20,000 in suspected crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, weapons, and over $100,000 in cash.
She says the accused is facing several charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Dunn adds he is to appear in Sudbury court to answer to the charges.
