The visiting Blind River Beavers edged the Soo Thunderbirds 5-4 in overtime at the John Rhodes Community Centre on Friday night.
The Greater Sudbury Cubs defeated the Espanola Paper Kings 4-1 at the Espanola Community Centre, also on Friday night.
It took overtime for the Beavers to outscore the Soo Thunderbirds 3-2 in their second win over their rivals, but this time on home ice at the Blind River Community Centre on Saturday night.
The Kings capped off the weekend winning over the French River Rapids 6 – 2 at the Noelville Arena Sunday afternoon.
