More affordable housing units for seniors are coming to Manitoulin Island.
The province is providing over $1.6 million through the Social Services Relief Fund to help create three more units in Little Current and another over $800,000 through the Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative.
Officials say “Fielding Place” has 12 units including one and two-bedroom units, with two of them being fully accessible, with appliances, air conditioning and in-suite laundry.
Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Steve Clark, made the announcement yesterday.
He said the funding will help seniors find a comfortable home near their families and loved ones.
