The City of Elliot Lake has parted ways with its Chief Administrative Officer, Daniel Gagnon.
Acting Mayor Andrew Wannan says Gagnon has been CAO of the City since January 2018, but he was relieved of his duties by Council on Wednesday.
He adds council wishes Gagnon only the best in his future endeavours, adding it was a difficult decision.
Wannan says Gagnon made important contributions to the city during his tenure, but council believes it was time now, early in their mandate, to make a change with the senior officer of the administration.
He says Natalie Bray, the Director of Clerks and Planning Services has been named Acting CAO in the interim until council decides about future direction, adding there will be no further comments made about the matter.
