St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake implements new visitor restrictions

St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake has implemented new visitor restrictions.

Hospital CEO Jeremy Stevenson advises that SJGHEL is moving to a model of Essential Care Partners.

He says these individuals are identified by patients or substitute decisions makers as being essential for their well-being and providing direction in their care, while enhancing their stay and healing process. Stevenson says patients can designate more than one person who must provide proof of double vaccination against COVID-19 at all three facilities – the Hospital, St. Joseph’s Manor, and the Oaks Centre.

He adds there are exceptions including compassionate ground with the policy coming into place immediately.
