Cambrian College welcomes Maureen McLelland as new board chair

Cambrian College has had some changes to its board of governors.
Maureen McLelland has been appointed chair for the 2021-2022 term, replacing Paul Pedersen, Chief of the Greater Sudbury Police Service.
McLelland says she is looking forward to leading the college through this next year as they continue
to navigate the global pandemic adding the past 18 months have seen many challenges, but Cambrian continues to adapt.
McLelland is currently the Regional Vice-President of Cancer Care and Vice-President of Social Accountability at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
She also co-led the Sudbury-Manitoulin-Parry Sound COVID-19 response table that supported rural hospitals and congregate care settings in the first three waves of the pandemic.
The role of the board is to provide Cambrian College with strategic leadership and direction, including determining Cambrian’s overall goals and objectives, approving, and evaluating the college’s strategic plan, and approving its annual budget.
Cambrian’s board is also welcoming four new members this year: Bela Ravi, Maxim Jean-Louis, Trevor Lalonde, and Jennifer Taback.
Returning members of the board include Cambrian President Bill Best, Bruce Bichel, Jason Bubba, Michael DiBrina, Lori Gauthier, Gianni Grossi, Sonia Del Missier, Janneke Nicholls, Philip Potgieter, Jeff Smith, and Jessica Valiquette.
