Cambrian College names new chair, board members

A well-known Sudburian will be heading up the Cambrian College Board of Governors.

Greater Sudbury Police Chief Paul Pedersen has been appointed Chair for the 2020-21 term.

Pedersen says he welcomes the strategic leadership and direction the board will provide in finalizing the strategic plan and annual budget, as well as determining the overall goals and objectives of the college.

The board also has three new members Hayley Hill, Advanced Care Paramedic Graduate Program as the student representative, the college’s Facilities Management Director Janneke Nicholls representing staff and Anmar President, Gianni Grossi.

The Board’s new Executive for this year includes Chief Paul Pedersen (Board Chair), Maureen McLelland (Vice Chair), Kati McCartney (Past-Chair), Jeanne Naponse (Chair of the Circle for Indigenous Education), Jeff Smith (Chair, Audit Committee), and Sonia Del Missier (Chair, Governance Committee). Other members of the board include Cambrian President Bill Best, Bruce Bichel, Jason Bubba, Lori Gauthier, Philip Potgieter, Jessica Valiquette (Internal Support Staff Representative).
