John Vanthof, the MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane, says selling Ontera makes no sense. The New Democrat says the telecommunications agency was the one section of Ontario Northland that didn’t cost the Crown Corporation money. However the Wynne Liberals are selling Ontera, which is worth tens of millions of dollars, to Bell Alliant for only $6 million. Vanthof adds the actual transfer of Ontera to Bell will cost taxpayers another 60-million dollars and lost jobs.
