An inventory of vacant land, which could possibly be used for social or senior housing, is underway in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
Mayor Leslie Gamble represents the township on the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board.
He told council Wednesday night the board is looking for land to develop into housing.
He asked councilors if they would gather information about any vacant land, they are aware of that could be developed.

He adds there is also waiting list for housing throughout the district.
The inventory will be compiled and submitted to the board in August.
