OPP celebrating Crime Prevention Week

Ontario Provincial Police in the local area are taking part in Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week.

The promotion, which runs from November 4th to 10th, is a week-long focus on crime prevention supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, and all police services across Ontario.

“Crime prevention works. When police work with their communities to stop crime in its tracks, we all win,” states Inspector Tyler Sturgeon, East Algoma OPP Detachment Commander.
East Algoma constables Phil Young and Bev Gauthier will be hosting a presentation on topics for staying safe on the Internet and at home.
The presentation will be held Tuesday, November 6th starting at 1:00pm at the Renaissance Active Living Centre.

Meanwhile, Manitoulin OPP Constable, Marie Ford, will be doing a joint presentation with Cst Mcdonald (Sudbury CSO) on cannabis for district social service board staff in Espanola and will also participate in the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Espanola High School this Friday.
