Long-time First Nations leader and advocate for northern communities, Charles Fox is the Ontario Liberal Party candidate for the riding of Algoma-Manitoulin.
Fox was acclaimed last night at a nomination meeting in Espanola.
Fox says he has spent his life fighting to create more opportunities for communities and building bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
Fox is a member of Bearskin First Nation and from 2000 to 2005, served as Ontario Regional Chief for the Chiefs of Ontario and between 1994 and 2000, he was Grand Chief of Nishnawbe Aski Nation.
Fox will square off against NDP incumbent Mike Mantha, PC candidate Jib Turner, Green Party’s Justin Tilson, Northern Ontario Party candidate, Tommy Lee and Kalena Mallon-Ferguson of the Libertarian Party.
