The Town of Espanola is one of 22 communities across Ontario, which has been approved for infrastructure dollars to repair a major portion of Centre Street.
Town CAO Cynthia Townsend says it is good news with the town being successful in its connecting link application for a grant being approved for just over $2.9 million.
She adds the work will address the worst part of Highway 6 – Centre Street on the stretch of highway between Station Rd and Second Ave.
There will be public meetings in the near future for affected businesses and residents to gather more information and address any concerns that they may have.
Townsend says they now have to go to tender and set the actual construction dates.
