Espanola information booth focuses on garbage bylaw

Espanola residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers about the impending Garbage Bylaw next week.

Espanola Council deferred the move to a two clear garbage bag limit until May 2018 at their late September meeting following a public outcry.

Town CAO, Cynthia Townsend says the goal of the changes is for the community to move towards a more recyclables at the curb and potentially improve municipal funding.

She adds the deferral for six months will also allow for more public education surrounding the changes in keeping with the impending Waste Free Ontario Act.

The Town will also host an information booth at the Touch-A-Truck & Council Open House Event next Friday October 20th from one pm to four pm at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.

She adds the leaf and yard waste depot will be open until November 13, 2017.
