One of the last mining employees in Elliot Lake retires today. Ian Ludgate hangs up his miner’s cap after 38 years at Denison Mines. Ludgate stayed on with Denison after the company closed in 1992 and later transformed itself into Denison Environmental Services.
The reformatted company has helped maintain and oversee the tailings in the community after the mine closures of the 1990’s.
