One person is facing charges after a break and enter in Sables-Spanish Rivers.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Berkley Parisien says last, Wednesday (March 26) at around five am, the police received an alarm call from a local postal facility.
She says police arrived on scene and found one person inside the facility.
She adds officers also seized suspected street drugs with an estimated street value of $18,000, several throwing and hunting knives, and some $1,300 in cash.
Parisien adds a 42-year-old man from Sagamok-Anishinawbek First Nation is facing several charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, break and enter, theft and mischief.
She says the accused has been remanded into custody.
The man has been charged with:
Break and enter a place to commit indictable offence
Theft under $5,000
Mischief under $5,000
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
Fail to comply with probation order – three counts
Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place
Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling.
