Blind River is one of three municipalities recognized for their work to keep hockey thriving in the area.
The Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association has awarded the Blind River Bud McIver Outdoor Rink the top prize for Ontario.
Mayor Sally Hagman says it is a great way to wrap up the season and they’re eager to get started on improvements on their local projects.
The $1,000 prize will be donated on behalf of the winner towards operating costs for the community outdoor rink.
The other two winning rinks are in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
