Important wins this weekend in the fight for a playoff spot

Some key contributions by members of the Iroquois Falls Storm saw them lead the way in an important 9-4 win over the Espanola Paper Kings Saturday evening in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at Jus Jordan Arena.
With the outcome, the two teams are now tied for eighth in the NOJHL standings.
The night before, the Paper Kings suffered a 4 to 7 loss to the Hearst Lumberjacks at the Claude Larose Recreation Centre.
The Paper Kings did manage to finish off weekend play with a 2-2 draw with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners Sunday afternoon at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex.
Only four regular-season games are remaining, so every win will be crucial for the final standings and a possible playoff spot.
Meanwhile, the Blind River Beavers had one game this weekend, edging the Soo Eagles 4-3 in a game Sunday at the Blind River Community Centre
