Espanola council approves rezoning for a new distribution centre

Espanola council has approved a rezoning bylaw that will allow for a new distribution centre in town for Intelcom, a privately held company that delivers parcels across Canada, the US and Australia. It has clients such as Amazon, Etsy and eBay.
The centre will share the same building as Quesada, a Mexican franchise, which is now located at 551 Centre Street in Espanola.
The previous owner had a warehouse on the site as an existing use for 40 years and there were no objections.
With the rezoning approval, the new distribution centre is expected to open soon.
