Flag Lowering – Passing of Dean Gibson

The Town of Espanola has lowered its flags in honour of a local employee who passed away last week.

Town Clerk Joseph Burke says long-time Public Works employee, Dean Gibson, passed away unexpectedly last Thursday.

Burke says Gibson was a man who dedicated his career to making his community a better place through his work, adding municipal staff extends its deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Gibson filled the role of foreman within the department.

He adds flags have been lowered at all municipal facilities this week until Friday following the Celebration of Life being held at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Gibson was 53.
