Espanola Community Living Adult Literacy students took in an excursion this week taking inĀ an online guided course through Good Learning Anywhere on Wednesday – The Benefits of Outdoor LivingĀ before heading out into the woods.
They followed that up with a trip to Black Creek Sno-Trails to take in a three-kilometre walk.
According to the release, following the presentation they met with their teachers and also took part in a scavenger hunt, and fed local fauna such as birds, chipmunks, and squirrels.
The studentsĀ alsoĀ learned how to read a map, how to identifyĀ a variety of trees, fallen leaves and animal habitats.
