The Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank needs the public’s help. Susan Kryzanowski, the president of the food bank says summer is always a difficult time to fill their shelves, and any and all donations are welcome. “Last year, we served 2,004 people of which 467 were children. This is up 8.2 per cent over 2012. Our 42 dedicated volunteers want nothing more than to help those in need, but we need the public’s help in filling our shelves.” Located in Espanola’s downtown at 87 Centre Street, the food bank is open every Wednesday from 11am to 3pm, so donations can be brought there or monetary donations at the Royal Bank. Visit Moose FM CJJM 99.3 – Espanola on Facebook for more information and arrangements for pickups.
