Maureen Peltier has been appointed as the education director for schools in Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.
Peltier was named interim education director over the last year but has now been officially appointed by the First Nation administration’s board of education.
Her focus will be on enhancing the educational experiences and outcomes for local students.
Peltier has years of experience having served as Wiikwemkoong Junior School Principal, High School Principal, and teacher for the Wiikwemkoong Board of Education.
