Espanola Black Creek Sno-Trails planning for dog-friendly trail

Four-legged fur babies will be the big winner with a big announcement made by the Espanola Game and Fish Association during celebrations at the Espanola Black Creek Sno-Trails yesterday.

Trail organizer Dennis Lendrum announced on behalf of the association that Domtar has donated more land and another hiking trail will be constructed at the Black Creek Pier to allow access for dog walking.

The trail system that has now been completed does not allow for dog walking, so the new trail will be a welcome addition.

The volunteers also celebrated the day with the grand opening of their completed projects of 2022 including a handicapped-accessible trail and bridge, benches, and more decorations along the trails.

Lendrum adds they are always looking for volunteers to help with construction and buying a membership to the association also helps with the costs for the work, which will begin in the spring.
