Manitoulin Health Centre changes COVID screening protocols

New COVID-19 screening protocols are in effect at the Manitoulin Health Centre.

The policy changes began Monday (July 18) at both the Little Current and Mindemoya sites.

Officials say along with reviewing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 at the entrance, all patients, visitors and designated care partners must wear a Manitoulin Health Centre-issued mask at all times.

They say masks will be available at entrances.

MCH also says eating or drinking by visitors is not permitted in patient care areas and everyone is asked to wash or sanitize their hands when entering the building, frequently during their stay, and when leaving.

The centre says visitors will be required to sign an expectations sheet confirming they understand the expectations.

Specific unit or department level restrictions to hours and duration of visits may also be in effect.
