Town of Espanola makes organizational changes

The Town of Espanola will be recruiting for a Manager of Community and Recreation as part of several organizational changes recently approved by the municipal council.

Espanola Mayor Jill Beer says for years the Leisure Services Department has been managed by the Manager of Public Works along with their regular duties.

Beer adds the town expects to post the position in April with the expectation of completing the recruitment process by early summer.

She also says as part of these organizational structure changes, the current Manager of Public Works and Leisure Services, Joel Yusko, will take on a newly created role as Manager of Environmental Services and Special Projects reporting to the CAO/Treasurer.

The current Assistant Manager of Public Works, Dave Parker, will move into the Public Works management role with a new title as Superintendent of Public Works responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Public Works Department reporting to the CAO/Treasurer.

Beer adds reorganizing critical leadership positions for the municipality is essential to the town’s success to bolster the recreation complex and tackling climate change by focusing on green initiatives.
