It has been a while in coming, but Espanola council is set for the next step in tendering the work for a new splash pad for the town.
Espanola council meets tonight to review the tender for the building of a new splash pad at Sherwood Park.
There were four tenders submitted and after review, the staff is recommending council award the contract to ABC Recreation for up to $220,000.
Evaluators were unanimous in their review of the proposed pad being 2,480 square feet in size with a spray area of 1,500 square feet, and including 19 features as well as two wheelchair accessible activators.
If the council approves the tender, construction will begin in June with an opening planned for July.
