Interfor Corporation has announced it has completed the transaction to acquire 100% of the equity interests of EACOM Timber Corporation from an affiliate of Kelso & Company.
Éric Larouche who has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Eastern Operations says the transaction was finalized on Tuesday.
Larouche, who was previously EACOM’s human resources vice-president, will be responsible for Interfor’s manufacturing and forestry operations throughout eastern Canada.
He says the purchase includes the sawmill operation in Nairn Centre.
Larouche adds the transaction does not have any immediate effects on day-to-day operations.
He says Interfor is a growth-oriented forest products company with operations in Canada and the United States. The company has annual lumber production capacity of 4.9 billion board feet and offers a diverse line of lumber products to customers around the world.
