Espanola High School was locked down for a short period of time yesterday after police say threats were issued on social media.
OPP Constable Phil Young says officers were called to the school on Spruce Street in relation to threats made by a student yesterday morning.
He says the school followed the protocol by putting a hold and secure in place and the lockdown ensued adding police located the student a short time later and the lockdown was lifted.
He says there was no threat to public safety.
Young emphasizes this incident had no relation to the shooting on Albert Street, which coincidentally occurred at the same time.
