Possible drowning at Carter Bay Beach

Manitoulin OPP is investigating a possible drowning at Carter Bay Beach in Carnarvon Township.

Police say they responded to the call in the afternoon of August 29. The investigation revealed that a man was swimming with two children when the undertow began pulling them further from shore.

Officers say the man tried to push the two children closer to shore before being dragged underwater.

The 48-year-old Collingwood man’s body is still awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The OPP says that foul play is not suspected.
