Quite a few educators with the Rainbow District School Board were to be honoured on Wednesday at an awards ceremony. The board is recognizing teachers and administrators for excellence in education. Receiving the teacher of the year award is Heather Pennie at Assiginak Public School. Getting recognition in the co-curriculum program are Mary Brohart of S. Geiger, Ray Scott at Assisginak and Jayson Stewart of Espanola High School. Walden Public School is receiving the Go Green Globe award for its Green initiatives. Also the recipient of the Community Partnership award is William Strain, the president of the Little Current and District Fish and Game Club.
