Domestic assault charges laid in Espanola

An Espanola man has been charged with domestic assault.  A woman came into the police detachment to report an assault that happened in November.  The police investigation found that the woman and her common-law spouse got into an argument in their home back in November when she was pushed to the floor while fighting over a phone and suffered a wrist injury, but didn’t go to hospital.  The woman told police she was only coming forward now because she was concerned over recent threats from the man towards her while he was drinking saying he’d kill anyone who came between him and his kids.  Police arrested the 40-year-old man and charged his with domestic assault, mischief under $5000, and utter threats.
