A ribbon cutting was held in Whitefish River Nation to mark the completion of its new water tower.
On Tuesday, Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP, Carol Hughes, took part in the official ribbon cutting officially launching the start-up of the new tower.
She also shared a few words congratulating the first nation on its latest infrastructure addition.
The federal government provided $3.5 million toward the project.
Ceccetto & Sons Limited of Sudbury took nearly a year to build the elevated storage reservoir, which will provide sustainable water pressure for improved fire protection to the community’s 450 residents and infrastructure, and to meet drinking water needs.
