In local hockey play, the Espanola Express were defeated by the Timmins Rock by a score of 5-2 Friday night.
The Rock edged the Elliot Lake Wildcats 1-0 Saturday night and the Blind River Beavers pulled a narrow 2-1 triumph over the Rayside-Balfour Canadians in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play over the weekend.
