Drug raid results in charges and seizure of thousands of dollars in drugs and cash

More than $70,000 in drugs have been removed from the streets of Elliot Lake.

OPP with the East Algoma detachment raided a home and seized oxycodone pills as well as methadone, hash oil, marijuana and other drugs worth $77,000.

They also confiscated $2,500.

A 29-year-old Elliot Lake man is now looking at two counts of possession of opioids and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under three kilograms.

The accused is also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking over three kilograms and possession of property obtained by crime.
