People at Killarney Provincial Park will be looking upward on September 22nd.
That’s when the park will be officially designated a Dark Sky Preserve.
The historic event runs from 2:00pm to 2:00am and includes astronomers looking up at the night sky once the sun sets.
The event also has a night hike through a scaled down model of our solar system.
Killarney Provincial Park, which has a 16-inch telescope, has been recognized by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada as a dark sky site.
