Well-known Canadian artist and sculptor, Laura Brown Breetvelt, from Elliot Lake will meet with city council to reveal her latest contribution to the bronze miner sculptor series.
Breevelt latest creation is life-sized and similar to the two, which depict miners from Elliot Lake at the Miner’s Memorial on the Horne Lake shoreline off Highway 108 at Hillside Drive North.
It features a prospector staking his claim along with an eight-foot granite column of similar design.
Tonight, she will share with council how this work integrates the story of prospector and their role in mining.
