It’s been a long winter, but for a group of six women in Massey, it has been a busy one in helping people with cancer.
Laura Courtemanche of Inspired Creations says the ladies have been knitting or crocheting eight inch squares, which are then sent to different volunteers to sew into afghans for cancer patients.
She says they have literally completed hundreds of squares and the afghans will be turned over to Health Science North on May 9th.
She adds it is a special project to all the ladies, more so, since one of them is a double mastectomy survivor.
The work continues and anyone can join in on Wednesday afternoons -1:00pm to 4:00pm at 365 Imperial street in Massey.
