Espanola hosts Ontario AGM for search and rescue

Espanola is the host for the Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association Annual General Meeting.

North Shore Search and Rescue President, Bill Noon, says the three-day conference is being hosted by the unit starts today at the Anishnawbek Spiritual Centre on Anderson Lake, just south of Espanola.

OSRVA is the governing body for the Ontario teams and works closely with police, fire and other emergency providers within each of the six OPP designated regions for Ontario.

He adds units will host the general meeting to discuss the business matters, but following that, there will be plenty of on-hand training, including ice rescue.
