Domtar pulp workers back on the job after temporary shutdown

Approximately 150 workers who were laid off at the Espanola pulp mill are working again.   Unifor Local 74 President Joanne Lamothe confirmed the workers were back on the job as of Friday.   The Domtar mill began laying off workers Wednesday night in what it called a response to a shortage of trained staff.   Domtar said a lack of personnel in key positions resulted in the need to stop pulp mill operations.   The union also says the shutdown was necessary because not having key employees in place made it impossible to perform many operations safely.
