Espanola residents will not have to change to clear bags and they will continue to be able to put out four bags a week under the garbage bylaw.
Last night, Councillor Ray Dufour moved the motion stating many residents were against the change to two clear garbage bags, which was to pass into law May 1st.
Councillor Ron Duplessis agreed stating Espanola is at 88% when it comes to recycling, better than many other communities.
Council agreed to rescind the impending amendment, but will be updating other aspects of the bylaw since it has not been updated since the 1960s.
