An Espanola man has been charged with sexual assault.
Espanola Police say on December 20th at approximately 4:16am, they were called to a residence regarding a complaint of a sexual assault.
An investigation was conducted and determined that a woman in her twenties had been at the residence of a family friend consuming alcohol, when she blacked out and awoke to discover the man performing a sex act on her, which she had not consented to.
The female fled the residence and police were called.

As a result, a 54-year-old Espanola man was charged with sexual assault.
He is to appear in Espanola court on February 12th, 2018.
