A Sudbury woman has been identified as the deceased in a head-on collision that occurred yesterday morning on Highway 17, east of McKerrow.
On December 11, 2017, at approximately 4:40 am members from the Manitoulin and Espanola Detachments of the OPP, EMS and the Baldwin Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of McKerrow.
The driver of the motor vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
She has been identified as 26-year-old Samantha Quick from Sudbury.
Highway 17 was closed for approximately five hours before being opened to one lane.
Road and weather conditions were not a factor.
The investigation continues.
OPP have also identified another fatality.
Last Friday, members of the Temiskaming OPP responded to a collision between two tractor trailers on Highway 11, in Temagami.
Passenger Amandeep Kaur Mangat, 33, of Brampton was pronounced dead at the scene.
And in a third accident, a pedestrian died in a collision early Saturday near Copper Cliff.
Greater Sudbury Police said Municipal Road 55 was closed in both directions between Balsam and Big Nickel Mine Road for several hours.
The identity has not been released and the investigations continue.
