The Algoma Radon Testing group is hosting a seminar about radon in Elliot Lake on Monday.
Radon gas may be a problem in anyone’s home, especially older ones.
Radon is an odorless, colorless gas that is formed from the natural breakdown of uranium in the earth. It is radioactive, so it is also a carcinogenic. (CAR-SIN-OH-GEN-IC)
The history of radon levels in Elliot Lake and surrounding area will be part of the presentation.
Everyone is invited to the Renaissance Senior’s Centre at 26 Manitoba Road from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm Monday evening.
Admission is free.
