Northern community pushes for better broadband technology

The MPP for Nipissing wants the province to act on a resolution from a community in his riding to improve broadband access in Northern Ontario.  Town council in Callander is calling for faster upload and download speeds for the north similar to what large urban centres have.   However council recognizes that the high cost of doing this is a barrier and it’s suggesting the province work with the feds to make it happen.  MPP Vic Fedeli says improving broadband access will spur the economy in Northern Ontario.  P.C. members will vote next month on a similar proposal to make improved broadband connectivity a party proposal.
