Today is back to school in most Ontario communities, including areas of the North Shore. It also means school buses are back on the road. Staff Sergeant Kevin Webb, the detachment commander of the Manitoulin OPP, has reminders for motorists. If a school bus has its stop arm extended and red lights flashing, you need to stop because kids are getting on or off the bus. Webb says penalties for not stopping range from $400 to $2,000 and six demerit points on your license. Although school begins today for most areas, the first day of school for students under the Rainbow board, Conseil scolaire de district catholique du Nouvel- Ontario and the Huron-Superior board is tomorrow.
