Nipissing Tory MPP Vic Fedeli says the Wynne Liberals are getting a very poor return by selling Ontera to Bell Alliant. And New Democrat John Vanthof of Timiskaming-Cochrabe agrees. Both say the telecommunications agency of the ONTC cost tens of millions of dollars but it’s being sold for only $6 million. And like the ONTC unions, Vanthof is worried that Bell will reduce the regional workforce once it takes over Ontera. Friday’s Ontera announcement included the province saying the bus and rail sectors of Ontario Northland will stay public. But Fedeli says there’s no mention of what role trains could have in the Ring of Fire chromite discovery.
